ANU Debating - Wom*n's Trial Sign-Up & Update for Week 4

8/14/2017

Hi All,

Wom*n's Trial
The long-awaited Wom*n's Trial is happening this weekend!

This year, we are holding it at ANU, and we will provide an opt-out option for accommodation for ANU debaters to reduce the costs of registration. Below is the information we need to receive from you for the purpose of your trial.

Novice debaters
We are holding a debating trial for all novice debaters who are considering adjudicating or debating at Wom*n's this year on Saturday 19 August. To seize this amazing chance to debate or adjudicate at a major BP tournament, please make sure to sign up before this Saturday for us to arrange a trial for you!

The definition of novices is that you have not broken at Wom*n's, Australs or Worlds, or that you have attended no more than one Australs.

For novices who are preferencing adjudicating over debating, please submit a copy of your latest debating/ adjudicating CV to anu.debating@gmail.com before you are debating on Saturday. We will assess you based on your CV and your debate.

For those who cannot attend the Saturday trial, please make sure to come to tomorrow's internal (15 August) so we can use your internal debate as the alternative trial for your selection.

Sign-up form for novice debaters: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1wJjjD64GwcQuJr7TR0oKgfZQlB_fE_TC1FXDMlYTCwY/viewform?edit_requested=true

Pro debaters
For pro debaters, that is anyone who is not a novice, please send a copy of your latest debating/ adjudicating CV to anu.debating@gmail.com before this Saturday. We will assess you based on your CV.

For those who do not have a copy of your CV, we have attached in this email a sample CV for your information.

Call-backs
Call back for a second debate happens on the same day (Saturday 19 August) at 2pm. If you are not free, please let us know in the sign-up form!

We will contact those who have filled in the sign-up form later this week regarding the timeslots for their trials.

Internal week 4
Internal is happening tomorrow at 6pm in COPG030! Join us for a night of food, training and practice debate. This week the training will be a recap on BP tactics and how to adjudicate.
